Bishop Nienstedt

As I said earlier I am from the Diocese of New Ulm. The other day is was announced that our Bishop was given a new assignment as Archbishop of St. Paul/Minneapolis. This is a big deal for us. The Bishop has done a great job leading his flock in New Ulm and I am selfishly sad to see him go.

No one likes change (especially me) and in our local parish we are in the midst of severe change. Our long time pastor and one of our parocial vicars are being reassigned and there are some changes coming in the parish office staff as well. Some of these changes might be for the best. It's just the unknown aspect that I am afraid of.

I am happy for the Bishop and wish him the best in his new job. I also hope that the Holy Father will appoint another good bishop to replace Abp. Nienstedt. One that will continue where he left off.

Dave, know my prayers for you and your family during this period of transition - to have a Bishop move, a pastor move, a parochial vicar, and a lot of staff is a lot. (It also let's me know were you are from, as well!)
What a nice blog, too. Keep it up.
