The Protestant Women Priests

I was not going to post on the subject of the latest pretend ordinations of the women priests. The article written by the Santa Barbara Independent was written in a way that actually made it sound like these women were actually priests and I feel it is important to once again point out that they are not. The late Pope John Paul II made it very clear in his Apostolic Letter Ordinatio Sacerdotalis that the priesthood is reserved for men alone. In this letter he reaffirms his past teachings on the subject and that of previous popes. Then he ends it with the following:

"Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church's divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful."

"I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgement is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful." That does not leave much gray area to my way of thinking. What these misguided people are doing are creating a new denomination of protestants.
