Archbishop Burke is going to Rome

THe Holy Father appointed Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis, MO, as Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura. The Apostolic Signatura is the Supreme Tribunal of the Church. It is sort of like the Supreme Court of the Church.

This is a great appointment for Archbishop Burke who will almost certainly be receiving a nice red hat I am sure. It is a loss for the US Church though. I'm pretty sure that his leadership will be missed.

His appointment brings the number of vacant sees in the US to 9. We continue to pray for a new Bishop here in the diocese of New Ulm.
